Christopher Eubanks began playing tennis at age two in Atlanta. As a junior, he traveled with professional player Donald Young as a hitting partner. The USTA’s Black History Month profile, which identifies Eubanks among young African American players, describes Young as a mentor. That relationship gave him experience alongside a player already navigating professional competition.

Eubanks spent three years at Georgia Tech. He became a two-time All-American and earned the ACC’s Player of the Year award in 2016 and 2017. His college honors also included regional recognition for leadership and sportsmanship. In October 2017, he announced that he would turn professional, foregoing his final season of college eligibility. His first tour main-draw appearance and first professional singles win had already come while he was a student.

The next major milestone came at Mallorca in 2023. Eubanks won his first ATP Tour singles title by defeating Adrian Mannarino 6-1, 6-4 in the final. Reaching that match had required a much closer escape: in the semifinal, he saved five match points against Lloyd Harris. Earlier rounds included wins over Alex Michelsen and Ben Shelton.

That spring, he had also reached the quarterfinals in Miami.

Eubanks then made his Wimbledon main-draw debut. After beating Cameron Norrie in the second round, he later faced Stefanos Tsitsipas with a quarterfinal place at stake. Eubanks trailed two sets to one before winning the final two sets. The USTA’s July 10 report records that five-set victory and his qualification for the last eight.
